Now that you are familiar with the GeoViewer home page, you are ready to learn how to work with the maps.
You have already practiced turning on different layers in the Layers Tab section.
Note: If you want
the map view larger, change the Map Size setting on the My
Profile tool
from the Advanced
Toolbar.
Now you can learn different ways to zoom in and out and to pan around the map to view the features A piece of information that can be displayed on the map such as a parcel number,fire hydrant, or aerial photograph. Each individual feature is represented by a row in a query table. (See "table") more closely.
When you have a map view you like, you can save it as a bookmark A section of a map that you save to view later in the same session. Nobel Systems can set up permanent bookmarks for you., copy it into a text or picture processing program or use data Specific information about a layer or feature. The contents of the fields in a database table. (See "table"). Data can usually be exported to a spreadsheet. from the features.
To get a closer look at an area, or to move further back
to get the broader view, use the zoom tools on the Main
toolbar.
Note: Because of the enormous amount of data in the maps, zooming can take several seconds to complete. To shorten zoom time make sure that you are only using the layers you need to view. The more data that has to load, the longer it takes to zoom.
Use Pan from the Main Toolbar to move the map in any direction within the main window.
Use the
overview map to view your present position on the full map with a small
red box.
Click Advanced
Toolbar
to open the Advanced Toolbar.
Click the Overview Map tool. The Overview Map appears in the top left corner, with your zoomed-in position on the main map marked with a little red box.
