Use these tools for simple zooming
Zoom In to increase magnification
Zoom Out to gain a broader view
Zoom to Full Extent to view the entire map
Use
Zoom In
from the Main Toolbar to lower the
scale of an area that you select on the map.
Click Zoom In.
Click in the map to zoom in a fixed amount.
Hold the left mouse button down and drag a (blue) box around an area you want to zoom into. When you release the mouse button. The scale is lowered for the selected area. Because of the large amount of data, this may take some time.

the new scale in the scale box at the lower right corner of the map.

Use Zoom
Out from the
Main Toolbar raise
the scale of an area, to
provide a broader view.
Click Zoom Out.
Click in the map to zoom out a fixed amount.
Hold the left mouse button down and drag a (blue) box around an area you want as the center for the broader area. The smaller the box you draw, the greater the zoom effect. When you release the mouse button. The scale is increased for the selected area. Because of the large amount of data, this may take some time.
See the new scale in the scale box at the lower
right corner of the map.

Note:
Zoom does not affect the layers that are activated.
The zoom tool remains active until you select another tool.
Create a bookmark to quickly return to the same scale
and location.
Zoom to Precise Scale
Enter a precise scale in the scale box to zoom in or out.

Zoom Next or Previous
Click the Zoom
Next
or Zoom Previous
buttons to return to earlier views
Note: Although you are working in a internet browser, using “Back” and “Forward” buttons in your browser is not recommended because your settings stay the same even though you see the last viewing area and detail.
Click
Full Extent
to show the entire map in the main window.

Note: Some of the layers A group of the same type of features that you can view on a map, such as parcels, water mains or street names. The data for each layer resides in a database table, where each individual feature of the layer is represented by a row, and the data connected with the feature (i.e. house number, APN, etc.) is stored in fields (columns) in the table. may not be visible because the number of features in the layer would cause the map to become unreadable. Decrease the scale either in the Scale box or by zooming in until the features are displayed.
