Use Hotlinks
from the Main Toolbar to see the document
that a particular feature is based on, for example, original
'asbuilts' or easement documents. The tool is called a Hotlink If available, HotLinks display additional documents related to features.
For example,the Hotlink may be to as-built drawings, easement documents,
atlas book pages, etc.,
as it links you directly from the map to the original document. Note: If you have
the Hotlink Manager 
among
the Service Specific Tools
on the Advanced Toolbar,
you can see which Hotlink documents are available to your service and
which features they are linked to.
Click the Hotlinks tool.
Click or draw a box around the feature you want to study .
Click the link to the document in the list in the Right Pane.
Your default Image Viewer opens with the original map.

layers have Hotlinks if your service has the Hotlink
Manager among its Service
