Hotlink Manager

Use the Hotlink Manager to view existing Hotlink If available, HotLinks display actual documents related to features. For example,the Hotlink may be to as-built drawings, easement documents, atlas book pages, etc. Each layer can have only one Hotlink associated with it. document classifications and to add new ones when you have uploaded new image files.

View a Hotlink classification:

  1. Click the Hotlink Manager button on the Advanced Toolbar. The Hotlink Manager dialog box lists all available Document Classifications.

  2. Hold your cursor over one of the classifications in the list. All the details for this classification are shown in a tooltip

Add a new Classification

When Nobel Systems uploads new image files to your system, you can connect them to the appropriate layers in the Hotlink Manager.

  1. Enter a descriptive Classification Name that you can recognize.

  2. Select the layer to link to this classification in the Link Layer Name drop-down list box.

  3. Select the field name that was used for the name of the file from the Link Field Name drop-down list box. In the example, the barcode stamped on the document was used as its name (i.e.10034.pdf) and  is one of the fields for the layer.

  4. Select the appropriate Extension (the file format of the image  you are linking) from the list.

    • If Sheet No appears in the list of fields, the image is a multipage PDF. Select Sheet No as the Sheet No. Field. The document will open on the appropriate page of the PDF document.

    • If the image format is not in the list, select Choose Custom and enter the correct extension (in the format "nnn") in the Custom Extension box.

  5. Enter Bypass URL if appropriate

  6. Click Add Classification.
