Use the five drawing tools from the Draw Control
on the Advanced Toolbar to annotate
the map with points, lines, boxes and text, using different colors and
thicknesses. You might also want to color-coordinate drawings
and the accompanying text.

Select a color
and width
Click the Choose color tool and select a color from one of the palettes on the Color Picker.
Select the width for the annotation.
Place a point on the
map
Click the Draw Point tool and then click the location on the map where you want the dot.
Draw a line
Click the Draw Line tool and then click one end of the line and then the other.
To draw a polygon, continue clicking to form the next sides.
Draw a box
Click the Draw Box tool and then drag with the cursor from one edge of the box to its opposite corner.

Add text
Select the color and 1 or 2 px width from the Color and Width tool.
Click the Draw Text tool and then click the point where you want the text to start. A promt box opens at the top of the screen.

Enter the text and click OK.

Click the Clear
tool to delete
all annotations, but
be careful, since all selected features are also cleared.
