Bookmarks

Use bookmarks A section of a map that you save to view later in the same session. Nobel Systems can set up permanent bookmarks for you. if you want to return to a specific area of the map at a later time, or refer a colleague to some particular feature, which you may have annotated.

This saves the following information about the map displayed in the main window:

Add bookmark

  1. Select appropriate layers and use Zoom and Pan to create a map version that you want to return to.
  2. Select  Bookmarks from the Advanced Toolbar. The following form appears in the right pane:

  1. Type a descriptive name for the bookmark. You might include location, layer names or scale to identify it.
  2. Select Private if the bookmark is only for you to see, or Public so that anyone who views the map can use it.

Note: If you want a colleague to see a particular feature, prepare the map with annotations, save it as a public bookmark and tell him which bookmark to look for. When he no longer needs the bookmark, delete it.

  1. Click Save Bookmark. The bookmark is saved under the descriptive name and is added to the Bookmarks list.

Access a created bookmark:

  1. Select the bookmark from the list of bookmarks.
  2. Click Show Bookmark.

Delete Bookmark

Only you can delete bookmarks you have created.

  1. Select the bookmark you want to delete.

  2. Click Delete Bookmark.

Note: Be sure to clean up in your bookmarks regularly when you no longer need them, so the list doesn't get too long.
Remember, all the Public bookmarks are in all of your colleagues' lists!
